Dump2 Dog Days
Annnnnnnd we're back! Sorry I been MIA again, this spring/summer has been busy. There are a few things I had in mind to write when I eventually got around to it. One being finishing the Nows or Laters post, and since The Bear season 4 is out now it's high time I got around to that. The other being random thoughts per usual so I guess I'll just dive right in.
This might sound really dumb/not explained well and not relatable at all, but have you ever gotten like super meta about time periods before you and how from your perspective they kinda don't really even exist? Like when you say a word too many times and it loses meaning. It's been a while since I had this feeling, but I was looking at the picture slideshows at my Grandpa's funeral and seeing all my parents/aunts/uncles and grandparents when they were younger in like the 70s or whatever or even earlier than that. And it's just hard to imagine that time period is real in a way. Like yes, it happened and my parents or grandparents lived through it and there's even photo evidence, but from my point of view it's just this abstract blip in time that isn't really tangible. For all I know, I'm just in a simulation and am told these events from before my time happened when really I could have just been spawned in during the only real time period—the one I observe during my life. I know this sounds insane from that perspective and because that's just not how time works, but when you hear about history even further back like 200+ years ago, it just kinda doesn't feel legitimate. Like no on alive today observed those events so in a way they're just abstracted away and never really happened. Cha feel? No? I'm losing you okay on the next. P.S.: Apparently this existential dissonance is a weird mix of solipism and ontological vertigo?
Honestly, outside of my other posts I'm working on, I don't remember what else I had to say so I guess I'll just give a brief lil update and post some of the pics to instagram. Added the search function to this site finally so feel free to marvel at that.
